Formation of MRL

Some background history: Garl L. Marvel owned a very successful international advertising agency doing $50 million in capitalized billing when he sold the business. Although retired, Gary has a strong track record on how to promote a product. Early in 2007 he was meeting a friend at a Fort Lauderdale restaurant and carrying “The Innocent Man” by John Grisham to loan him for a good read.

Marvel arrived early, and while sitting at the bar, he placed Grisham’s book close to his drink The gentleman seated next to him immediately questioned in a deep English brogue:

“Do you enjoy Grisham’s work?” With Gary’s positive answer, he immediately pronounced

“You would enjoy mine better!” They exchanged some “war stories” their contact information and then parted. The very next morning on Marvel’s computer email was “Royal Di-Lemma,” a manuscript this English gentleman had written a few years back.

Gary was so intrigued that he sat there and read it directly on the computer for the next six hours. To say that he was impressed is an under statement. The next meeting’s obvious question was:

“Why haven’t you published this?” Mike Rollin replied:

“I really enjoy my writing, but I don’t need all the crap that goes along with the book business. I want to write, play golf and fish. If you would like to handle the marketing and the ‘bs’ that’s involved, be my guest.”

Mike then gave Gary the manuscripts of three other mystery novels he had written. Marvel was hooked!

So, after numerous meetings, there they were. A brand new business, MRL Productions, LLC, a terrific author, a professional marketing guy, an experienced printer, a series of books to come and a very positive attitude.

On June 27, 2007, the company ordered the first print run of ‘Royal Di-lemma.' They will allocate 5,000 hardcopies for the author’s local introduction in South Florida. The marketing, advertising and sales promotion plan has already been scheduled including author’s signings at a major kick-off event. The finished novel is available for you today.

In the near future it is the intention of MRL to offer this same service to other creative authors, script writers, tech writers, etc. who do not have the resources to do this independently, as they believe there are many who would welcome this support.
